On Monday, April 7, 2025, the seminar How the Strange Properties of Light Opened the Door to Quantum Physics took place, led by RNDr. Zdeňka Koupilová, Ph.D., from the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University in Prague.

The seminar was designed for primary and secondary school teachers and offered them a chance to explore the contradictory nature of light and to gain insight into the world of quantum physics. Participants engaged in simple experiments through which they observed atomic emission spectra, examined blackbody radiation, and demonstrated the particle-like behavior of light using a discharging and recharging tin can.

The event is part of the project RUR – Region to University, University to Region, Reg. No. CZ.10.02.01/00/22_002/0000210. Activity B.3.11: Seminars and Workshops for Science and Mathematics Teachers.
