Summer School of Vacuum Technology 2026
The Czech Vacuum Society invites students, PhD candidates, and early-career researchers to the Summer School of Vacuum Technology 2026, which will take place on 25–27 May 2026 at the Kraví hora hotel in Bořetice.
This year’s edition is subtitled Principles and Methods of Instrumentation for Mass Spectrometry and focuses on the field of mass spectrometry. It will provide a comprehensive overview of its physical principles, instrumentation, and practical applications in contemporary research and industry. Participants will become familiar with the fundamental principles of the method as well as with vacuum systems essential for the proper operation of spectrometers. The program will also cover advanced techniques and present selected applications across various fields, from materials research to analytical chemistry.
The summer school is designed to offer not only theoretical knowledge but also broader context and practical insights into the operation of modern experimental systems. Lectures will be delivered by experts from both academia and industry who are actively engaged in the development and application of vacuum technologies and mass spectrometry. Participants will gain an up-to-date overview of current trends in the field, along with opportunities to discuss specific problems and establish new professional contacts.
An important aspect of the event is its informal setting, which encourages discussion and exchange of experience among participants. The South Moravian location also provides a pleasant environment for both the academic program and accompanying activities. The summer school thus represents a suitable opportunity for anyone wishing to become acquainted with vacuum science and mass spectrometry and to further deepen their knowledge in this area.
