Success at the 13th Czech-Slovak Student Scientific Conference in Physics

On the 14th and 15th of September 2023, the 13th Czech-Slovak Student Scientific Conference in the field of physics took place at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of Charles University. A representative from our university, Mr. Josef Novák, participated in this conference.

Josef Novák pursued his master’s studies in nanotechnology (CENAB) and he conducted his research in collaboration with the Nuclear Physics Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences in Řež. His work primarily focused on the modification of polymers and graphene oxide using ion beams, as well as the analysis of their sensory and photocatalytic properties. He subsequently presented his results successfully at the conference and, competing with other students from the Czech Republic and Slovakia, secured an impressive 1st place in the Particle and Nuclear Physics section.

We extend our congratulations to Mr. Novák for his outstanding 1st place achievement and wish him continued success in the future.
