Josef Novák received the Award of the Minister of Education, Youth and Sports

On November 19, an awards ceremony for the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports (MŠMT) Awards in the field of higher education, science, and research took place at the Liechtenstein Palace. This prestigious award is presented annually to the best students for exceptional achievements during their studies and to academics for significant contributions to education. This year, the award was also presented to Mgr. Josef Novák by the Minister of Education, Youth, and Sports, Mikuláš Bek

Josef Novák, a doctoral student in the Applied Ion Technologies program, has been closely collaborating with the Nuclear Physics Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences in Řež since his undergraduate studies. Under the supervision of RNDr. Petr Malinský, Ph.D., he focuses on the implantation and irradiation of materials using energetic ion beams. Mr. Novák received the award for the results he achieved during his master’s studies (Applied Nanotechnology, CENAB), where he concentrated on the nanostructuring of polymers and graphene derivatives for applications in sensor technology, microelectronics, and catalysis. The results of his work have been successfully published in international scientific journals and presented at prestigious global conferences.

In addition to his scientific work, Josef Novák is dedicated to science outreach. Through lectures, guided tours, and active participation in popular science exhibitions, he brings research in the fields of ion beams, particle accelerators, and the fascinating nanoscale world closer to the general public.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Novák on this significant award and wish him continued success in his scientific career.
