Adéla Jagerová received the Henri Becquerel Prize for achievements in nuclear physics

On June 28, traditional Scientific awards for young researchers were presented at the French Embassy in Prague. Among the awards was the Henri Becquerel Prize in the field of nuclear research, where RNDr. Adéla Jagerová, Ph.D., secured first place with her doctoral thesis titled “Nanostructuring of Monocrystalline ZnO by Energetic Ion Beams for New Optical Functional Materials.”

Adéla Jagerová, who works at the Department of Physics and also at the Nuclear Physics Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences in Řež, earned her doctorate in the Applied Nanotechnology program. She completed her dissertation under the supervision of Prof. Anna Macková at the Řež facility, specifically in the laboratory of the particle accelerator Tandetron. Her research was focused on the interaction of ion beams with zinc oxide (ZnO) crystals and the use of ion beams for the preparation of nanostructures and the subsequent modification of their functional properties.

We congratulate Dr. Jagerová and wish her many more successes in the future!
